There is something unique about each moment we live. The feeling of a time and place in an exact moment that can never be relived. I always try to capture moments with you but not with a camera. A picture is only an image of frozen time. My memories like pictures are only clear if I am truly present to your every moment and nuance. I have some very clear images of you I carry carefully in my mind.

Night is the haven for life's escapees,
Those of us who flee the light of day.
We see too much as innocent bystanders,
We feel every pain and we taste every bitter pill.
I fall like the day glowing golden into the sea.
I know tragedy will not follow me in the dark;
The sunset is my lover revealing everything,
Asking nothing in return, promising nothing,
Only a kiss in the dark as night falls.

Trees grow leaves then shed them after they change colors. They grow taller and wider every year. Barns age with time, old wood patched with new tin roofs rusting in the weather. Fences change and move. Nothing stays the same. Time is the great power we never see but always feel. Age is no disgrace only a measure of the life we live and then only the length of it never the depth or width. Full lives are sometimes short and empty lives often longer than dirt. I suppose I fall somewhere in between the past and the inevitable changes the future holds.
